Kristina of pine.flowers is a New York–based Sogetsu-trained ikebana artist and founder of Flower Heart Alliance, a collective dedicated to sharing the practice of ikebana with everyone, everywhere.
She's been bringing ikebana into Tea Arts & Culture experiences since 2019, leading demonstrations and workshops at Summer Tea: a bamboo-and-local-flower workshop in 2020, wearable arrangements in 2022, and miniature ikebana with fruits and seasonal blooms in 2023. At Winter Tea, she presented a solo large-scale arrangement in 2025, then organized Third Life in 2026, a Flower Heart Alliance group exhibition of eight ikebana artists working both indoors and out. She's also created installations for Odes to Common Things at BioBAT Art Space and CraftSpring Gallery (2025), an outdoor ikebana-and-tea installation in August 2026, floral arrangements for TAC galas, and hand-foraged pine tea service alongside her Winter Tea arrangements.
Since April 2026, she's also led Golden Ikebana, a Flower Heart Alliance partnership with Tea Arts & Culture that brings ikebana to retired seniors across NYC, a natural extension of TAC's own Golden Tea program. Golden Ikebana is grant-funded by the Ikebana Iwaya Fund, whose support has helped bring the practice to more of the city's elders.
Collaborating with Tea Arts & Culture is a way of weaving flowers and ikebana into the heart of the tea experience, and finding new ways to share that with every person.
