Program Coordinator for Golden Tea Program for Seniors
Reports to: Executive Director
Status: Part-time, 6-10 hours/week, Hybrid
Pay: $25-$30/hour
Location: Remote with occasional travel within NYC for site visits and meetings
Position Summary
The Program Coordinator is responsible for the planning, implementing, coordinating, and evaluating of TAC’s Golden Tea Program for seniors. The Golden Tea Program brings multisensory and social tea experiences to senior communities and centers to help foster connections with one another. The Golden Tea Program focuses on sharing the art of tea as well as stories, making art, learning about one another’s cultures, and more through a series of on-site events at our partner senior centers.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, coordinate, and implement tea and arts programming together with a team of TAC and staff from our partner senior centers to ensure programs are well organized and well run.
Provide administrative and logistical support such as preparing and managing program budgets, scheduling and a maintaining calendar of events, purchasing supplies, tracking program activities, etc.
Develop and maintain strong working relationships and arrangements with our partner senior centers. Maintain communication with partner sites and team members to ensure collaborative and effective programming. This includes coordination with those serving tea, collaborating artists, and key senior center staff for each partner site.
Help develop and implement program evaluation strategies; monitor and report on program outcomes.
Assist with grant writing and fundraising efforts to support program activities as well as grant reports. Ensure compliance with grant guidelines and organizational policies.
May also involve outreach to potential future partners and organizations to expand our Golden Tea Program to new sites. This may include emailing and phone calls to potential sites, representing TAC at public events and meetings, promoting Golden Tea through social media, etc.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
High School Diploma with minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role, preferably in social services or non-profit organizations.
Skills and Competencies
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to take initiative, work independently and as part of a team.
Empathy and understanding of the challenges faced by the elderly population.
Proficient in Google Workspace.
Language skills in Spanish, Mandarin, or Cantonese are desirable.
Creativity and curiosity are highly desired.
Working Conditions
Ability to visit senior centers and attend meetings as needed around NYC.
Ability to attend regular zoom meetings with team members and collaborators.
