Dasi · 다시 · again
Dasi (다시 · "again") celebrates the destiny of nature: as leaves fall, they nourish the seeds lying dormant, and emerge as new life.
Constructed from gathered branches, twigs, and leaves, the work stands 3–5 feet tall. Local clay, embedded with native wildflower seeds and spent tea leaves, grounds and supports the organic frame. Sheltered from the outside world, the center becomes a tea room — where ceremonies invite visitors to pause and arrive in the present moment.
Like nature itself, the installation is never finished. Its materials shift with the seasons until the structure eventually collapses — returning to the ground, only to be reborn as wildflowers: Dasi, once again. Within these walls, we gather for tea ceremonies, honoring each one as a singular, unrepeatable encounter.
The slow metamorphosis of decay signifies not an ending, but an opening. Dasi holds space for the unexpected and the inevitable. Let nature lead — leaves dry, insects arrive, seeds take root. These quiet shifts reveal themselves only to those who stay.
Dasi grows from a long practice of landscape care and the tradition of the tea ceremony — the belief that every moment of change, however small, is worth noticing.
That life, in all forms, never stops becoming.
Meet EunYoung Sebazco
EunYoung Sebazco is a New York–based artist working at the intersection of ecology, ritual, and public space. Through plants, photography, and site-specific installation, she creates moments of pause — inviting audiences to experience the city as a living, breathing environment.
Trained in landscape architecture and horticulture, she works with layered, living materials to cultivate connections between human presence and the natural world. The Japanese tea ceremony is the heartbeat of her practice, extending into ceramics, floral design, and landscape interventions. Her work asks viewers to become co-creators — slowing down, paying attention, and recognizing the quiet life that surrounds them.
