About Tierra Jai;

My name is Tierra, I’ve been a gardener at Discovery Gardens for about four years. Prior to that, I was both a youth leadership mentee and a volunteer to the garden. Originally introduced to the garden through adopting a tree, honored to speak my poetry at the United Nations as a Green Thumb mentee in 2019. To now, graduating into a Garden Community Organizer for my community. It ignites me to continue to grow within this community, and now be able to cultivate a space for appreciation of the Art of Tea Ceremony here.

Private support is provided by City Parks Foundation and Partnerships for Parks through the NYC Green Fund.

This program is supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.
